Graphical User Interface - GUI

The intuitive color GUI's operating system is icon-based for user-friendly operation. Ergonomically designed to swing left or right and tilt for operator preference. All machines' setups are managed and stored in the GUI for toolless operation
Stitching

The BM-e user-friendly automated, toolless stitcher ensures stitch positions are always precise and identical. The stitcher comes equipped with either 2 or 4 Hohner roll fed stitch heads or Deluxe stitch heads with wire cassettes, allowing for up to 14 different stitch positions including top, corner, side, saddle and optional loop stitching. The solution features missing stitch detection, end-of-wire detection, active clinchers and measures the thickness of each booklet automatically adjusting for variable page count booklets without operator intervention.
Folding

The belted folder guarantees no marking, scuffing or scratching of the printed sheets during the folding process. Coupled with a precision serrated folding knife and automated fold roller pressure adjustment (based on the set thickness) makes this automated folder capable of producing dynamic page count booklets on complex media including coated stocks.
Upper Reception Tray

The BM-e features a smart upper reception tray to quickly collect the top, side and corner stitched documents that don't require face trimming. This tray can be unloaded "on-the-fly" preventing production interruptions.
Trimming

A unique book clamp mechanism automatically lowers to apply even and equal pressure to the entire booklet while the self-sharpening guillotine blades deliver a precise face cut. The BM-e trimmer allows for up to 1 inch of face trimming and features an adjustable high power blowdown fan that blows any trim waste into a large scrap bin that can be easily emptied while the machine is producing booklets.
Output Conveyor

The smart output conveyor comes as standard equipment on the BM-e, its conveyor pulse can be adjusted to optimize set shingling. It features the ability to count batches and group the booklets into operator defined stacks for easy collection.

BPM

Connect with a Booklet Maker, a Binder, or a Stacker

Connect the BPM's output with a BME Booklet Maker, a BB3002 Perfect Binder, or a BPS Stacker.
Format Changing: 2-up or 4-up Imposition

The Bourg Preparation Module (BPM) allows for rapid format changing. No matter the appl application, the BPM allows for a printed SRA3 sheet to become either an A4 or an A5 document with a single pass.
Bleed/trim up to 100 mm (3.94")

Sheets coming from the upstream device are precisely registered allowing for sharp bleed/trim of the edges of the paper, effortlessly removing white edges. The minimum bleed trim is of 4 mm (0.1610") and the maximum is 100 mm (3.94").
Premium Quality Creasing

The BPM is equipped with a rotary knife matrix creaser allowing for the highest quality cross-track creases without stopping the sheet. This technology is superior to a crease wheel as breaks the fibers of the paper in a single stroke, significantly reducing the risk of air bubbles / marking on laminated sheets.
Rotation

Sheets can be rotated clockwise before registration. The vacuum level for registration is automatically adjusted based on the media type, size, and weight and on whether the rotation is enabled or not.
Precise Cut & 2-up Production

The BPM cross-track cuts the sheets perpendicularly to their width into two identical pages. It also creates a gap between these two half sheets to enable sheet processing downstream.
Cross Track Perforation

A cross-track perforation can be added in order to create easy to tear documents. This allows for booklets and books with perforated sheets when combining the BPM with a booklet maker or a perfect binder. Custom perforation may be requested with the desire teeth per inch blades.

BSF

Best Paper Feeding Technology

The Bourg Sheet Feeder is equipped with the best paper suction feed system, based on more than 3 decades of R&D. Capable of reliably feeding a wide range of paper types and paper weights.
Drawer and High Pile Loading

You can effortlessly load a ram of paper via the Drawer or insert a cart full of paper up to 500 mm (5.51”) into the High Pile.
Connect the Printer Carts

The High Pile is compatible with most production printers’ stacker cart/trolleys/pallets. This allows for efficient transfer from the printer to the BSF finisher without having to manipulate the paper, eliminating the risk of damage and errors.
Dual Barcode Scanning

The BSF comes with optional barcode scanners in both the Drawer and the High Pile. This allows the system to read job information for an automatic and accurate set-up while guaranteeing job integrity and sequency. Data extraction are easily available.

BSE

Square Edge Booklets

The Bourg Square Edge (BSE) Module can connect to the booklet maker to produce saddle-stitched booklets with the sharpest square back finish in the industry, similar in appearance to a perfect bound book. This allows for flat documents even with high grammage paper and/or a large page count.
Intelligent Processing

The BSE can easily be activated or deactivated, allowing for a quick change over from square edge booklets to saddle-stitched booklets. The BSE is managed via the system’s GUI during setup, this allows the possibility to save job preferences easily.
