As the demand for high-value, sheet-fed page production continues to grow in the market. C.P. Bourg’s latest innovation, the Bourg Booklet Maker 40/60+ (BBM 40/60+) amazed attendees at the exhibition with its impressive 60+ sheets 240+ booklet pages capability.
Debuting as a fast and fully automated finisher, the BBM 40/60+ was shown off-line with the Bourg sheet feeder (BSF) Bourg Preparation Module (BPM) equipped with both Bleed Trimming and Creasing for three (3) edge trimmed document production, Bourg Booklet Maker (BBM) stitcher (ST), folder (FO), Bourg Square Edge (BSE) finisher and Bourg Trimmer (TR) face trimmer.
The BBM 40/60+ demonstrated its ability to make booklets from one (1) single sheet of paper up to sixty + (60+) sheets or corner, head and side stitch documents up to sixty + (60+) sheets (utilizing two (2) or four (4) Stiches) plus Square Edge the finished booklets. It can run at the full rated speed of the printer it is docked against or be fed sheets from the Bourg Sheet Feeder (BSF) in-line / off-line or Dual Mode (attached to a printer but operating off-line via the BSF).
The Bourg Booklet Maker incorporates a “mark less” belted knife folder, equipped with a serrated fold blade and crushing cylinders used to eliminate the memory of the sets and prevent marking, scuffing and tracking on toner, ink or inkjet imaged media.
The new BBM 40/60+ booklet maker also introduces an “industry first” with its ability to incorporate sheet converting and stacking on the same production line as the booklet maker, giving end users the capability to eliminate guillotine cutting post printing for jobs that require book blocks used to produce perfect bound books or mechanical binding applications such as comb binding and three (3) ring binder documents.
