Drawer and High Pile Loading

You can effortlessly load a ram of paper via the Drawer or insert a cart full of paper up to 500 mm (19.69”) into the High Pile.

Connect the Printer Carts

The High Pile is compatible with most production printers’ stacker cart/trolleys/pallets. This allows for efficient transfer from the printer to the BSF finisher without having to manipulate the paper, eliminating the risk of damage and errors.

Dual Barcode Scanning

The BSF comes with optional barcode scanners in both the Drawer and the High Pile. This allows the system to read job information for an automatic and accurate set-up while guaranteeing job integrity and sequency. Data extraction are easily available.

Stitching

The BM-e user-friendly automated, toolless stitcher ensures stitch positions are always precise and identical. The stitcher comes equipped with either 2 or 4 Hohner roll fed stitch heads or Deluxe stitch heads with wire cassettes, allowing for up to 14 different stitch positions including top, corner, side, saddle and optional loop stitching. The solution features missing stitch detection, end-ofwire
detection, active clinchers and measures the thickness of each booklet automatically adjusting for variable page count booklets without operator intervention.

Folding

The belted folder guarantees no marking, scuffing or scratching of the printed sheets during the folding process. Coupled with a precision serrated folding knife and automated fold roller pressure adjustment (based on the set thickness) makes this automated folder capable of producing dynamic page count booklets on complex media including coated stocks.

Upper Reception Tray

The BM-e features a smart upper reception tray to quickly collect the top, side and corner stitched documents that don’t require face trimming. This tray can be unloaded “on-the-fly” preventing production interruptions.

Square Edge

The Bourg Square Edge (BSE) Module can connect to the booklet maker to produce saddle-stitched booklets with the sharpest square back finish in the industry, similar in appearance to a perfect bound book. This allows for flat documents even with high grammage paper and/or a large page count.

Automatic Mode for Square Edge and Folding Pressure - While automatic mode is active, the BBM will process variable thickness documents without any operator adjustment. A single sheet document can be followed by 60 sheet (280 page) document automatically. Settings determining when to apply square edge and optimizing folding pressure are fully automatic. Customers may be personalized base on preference and paper type. (Example: automatically apply square edge from 15 sheets)

Trimming

A unique book clamp mechanism automatically lowers to apply even and equal pressure to the entire booklet while the self-sharpening guillotine blades deliver a precise face cut. The BM-e trimmer allows for up to 1 inch of face trimming and features an adjustable high power blowdown fan that blows any trim waste into a large scrap bin that can be easily emptied while the machine
is producing booklets.

Output Conveyor

The smart output conveyor comes as standard equipment on the BM-e, its conveyor pulse can be adjusted to optimize set shingling. It features the ability to count batches and group the booklets into operator defined stacks for easy collection.
